Laser Hair Removal:

1)What is laser hair removal exactly?
LHR is a noninvasive procedure to help eliminate or maintain less hair growth. The laser emits a light that the pigment in the hair then absorbs and converts to heat which damages the hair follicle to the point of no regrowth or delayed regrowth.
2)Is LHR safe?
Here at Brazos Springs Aesthetics we use the Lutronic Clarity II, which is a dual -wavelength and Fda approved laser that can complete treatments 2x faster. The dual - wavelength ensures that we can cater to all skin types on the fitzpatrick scale safely and accordingly. This laser also has a built-in safety stop which allows the laser to stop firing if the laser detects that the skin's temp is too high. All in all it is a safe treatment to have to complete with great results in the end.

3)Am I a good candidate ?
This process works best for candidates whose hair is brunette and darker. The laser needs pigment to attack so it does not work for grey, white, blonde, and light red hair. We have free consultations that are confidential; where we specifically go into details and take a look at any underlying medical or physical conditions, medications, and anything else that may cause concern or prevent treatment.

4)Can I get laser treatment while Pregnant?
No, LHR should not be done while pregnant to prevent any risk of negative side effects that could occur. During pregnancy your hormones change the way your body functions which affects your hair growth and its rate of growth so it's best to not do any treatments until after you have given birth and your hormones have had a chance to settle.

5)Does LHR have any downtime?
No, this treatment doesn't have any downtime so you can literally go back to doing daily activities once your appointment is over.

6)What happens after my treatment?
After completion you may have temporary discomfort, redness, and swelling which should go down within hours after treatment.

7)Can I shower before my appointment?
Yes, we recommend you shower before your appointment to ensure your body is free of all fragrances, oils, lotions, etc. so that there leaves no room for burns or pigmentation changes to occur to your skin.

8)How many treatments will I need?
After the first initial session you can expect 10% to 25% reduction to occur per session following after. We recommend 7-10 treatments for those who've never done laser before.
Microneedling

1)What is microneedling?
MIcroneedling is a minimally invasive form of collagen induction therapy that creates little tears in your skin that forces your skin to heal.

2)What are the benefits?
Microneedling can significantly reduce and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks.

3)Can I wear makeup to my appointment ?
It's best to not wear makeup to your appointment that way your tech can see your skin clearly and is able to create a treatment plan catered to your skin's needs.

4)How long does it take?
The procedure takes 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated and how long it takes for your skin to react to the numbing cream.

5)Is there downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice redness and a tightening feeling of the skin. The total healing time depends on settings that are used and the number of overlapping passes your tech performs. Patients are red for up to 2 to 5 days and may be a little tender to the touch.

6)How many treatments will I need?
Some people only need a single treatment but for most that's not the case. We recommended that most patients receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 4-8 weeks apart. For those with deeper wrinkles, intense photo aging, stretch marks or acne scars we recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 weeks apart.

7)What is photo aging?
Photo aging is the sun doing damage to your skin over time and from lack of sunscreen when being out.
8)Is this safe for darker skin types?
Yes

Facials

1)How frequently should I get a facial ?
Depending on where you are in your skin care journey and your skin's health it can be from anywhere from 2 a week to once a month. If you already have a stable skin care regimen, getting a facial once a month helps for great results. If you're a teen or new to skin care, getting a facial can be more frequent at first and once your skin starts to improve and you keep up with the regimen decided, then you'll switch over to once a month for maintenance.

2)Will I break out after the facial?
Usually no, but there are times where your skin may be congested underneath the surface and after doing the facial your skin will purge so it looks like a breakout but that's just the congestion coming out of your skin.

3) What if I have sensitive skin?
Skin care isn't something that's a one size fits all type of thing, which is why we have different facial treatments. During your appointment we inspect your skin and go over your concerns/questions so that we can create a facial that caters to your skin's needs.

4)Do you do extractions ?
We do extractions as needed.
